What is the Sage Data Migration Tool (DMT)?

The Sage Data Migration Tool (DMT) is designed to help streamline the import process and deliver a 50% to 60% improvement over standard import methods.

The process starts with uploading customer data into DMT. Within DMT, automatic and manual mapping is done to conform to the Sage templates. Additionally, auditing and error reporting is available to help identify and correct errors all within DMT.

Once errors are resolved, the import file is created in the Data Migration Tool then imported into Sage.

Access to the
Sage Data Migration Tool

    Completing the required training provides access to the Sage Implementation Resources Sage City site that contains the Data Migration Tool, Sage X3 compatible import templates, documents explaining the tool, and sample import data that gives examples of what mapped customer data looks like within the tool. This site also includes community forums to share, access and discuss best practices and provide feedback with your peers. This feedback will contribute towards the continuous improvement of the toolkit.

  • The price is a one-time fee required on the initial purchase. You will be notified when the company-wide access is available for additional colleagues to purchase this course at no charge.
  • Each individual must accept the usage agreement and complete the Sage Data Migration Tool Subscription course.
  • Once completed, access to the Sage DMT and Resources  will be provided to that individual within 3-5 working days.



Sage product migration paths

Sage product migration paths have been created as addons to the current Sage Data Migration Tool (Sage DMT). These product migration paths assist customers moving from Sage 500 and Sage 300 to Sage X3. The product migration paths give partners and customers views to extract data eliminating the need to understand source data structures, and the need to create import files. With the click of a button, the tool enables automatic importing and mapping of data to the Sage X3 templates.

The Sage product migration paths subscription provides access to Sage 500 Data Migration Tool & Sage 300 Data Migration Tool on the Sage Implementation Resources Sage City site that includes a library of Sage 300 and Sage 500 SQL views and import templates to be used throughout your implementation. This subscription also includes community forums to share, access and discuss best practices and provide feedback with your peers. This feedback will contribute towards the continuous improvement of the toolkit and methodology.
