Sage SalesLogix Virtual Classroom Orientation
Here's everything you need to know about Sage SalesLogix Virtual Classroom and how to make it the best learning experience possible.
What Is Virtual Classroom?
Virtual Classroom training is self-paced, instructor-supported training. With our unique approach to virtual classroom training, you have full control of your learning experience. Here's how:
- Skytap Virtual Lab
Just like sitting in front of a pre-configured training computer in a classroom, we’ll send you your own Skytap Virtual Lab to use for Virtual Classroom training. It’s a virtual computer you control through a browser window. Your instructor has full visibility of your virtual lab and can jump in with you to assist as needed. Labs are available each day for 12 hours after the listed start time. - Electronic and Printed Curriculum
You will receive electronic curriculum to use during class. This PDF has all the course content and exercises needed as well as your roadmap indicating how much of the curriculum and exercises you should complete each day. You also have the option to purchase printed curriculum. Refer to your course confirmation e-mail for a special link to purchase the curriculum in spiral-bound, printed format. - Virtual Classroom Videos
Rather than an instructor lecture all day in a stuffy classroom, all of the courseware and content has been recorded and is made available to you in a special video repository that corresponds with your printed curriculum. As you work through the printed curriculum, you’ll view a video for every lesson that you can pause, rewind or replay as many times as you need. As soon as you’ve read the printed curriculum and watched the corresponding video, you’re ready to head over to your Skytap Virtual Lab to perform the related exercises. - Teleconference and Chat
Virtual Classroom isn’t just about watching videos and using a pre-configured lab. Expert Sage instructors are available through a chat portal throughout the entire class. Chat with your instructors to let them know you have a question or need assistance. Your instructor can assist via chat, a quick phone call or by taking control of your virtual lab.
Tips for Students
- Attend from a Distraction-Free Location
Make sure you have a good place to attend that is free of distractions and co-workers. Some students reserve conference rooms, use libraries with Wi-Fi, or even work/learn from home. - Set an Out of Office Notification on your E-mail
Treat the days of training as you would a vacation from work by alerting co-workers and clients of your absence. Be sure to set an out-of-office notification on your e-mail. - Plan breaks
You should plan to take a 5-10 minute break at least every hour. Find a place to eat lunch before class begins. - Be prepared
Make sure you have everything you need. Check your Internet Connection and Java Installation using the connectivity checker below and make sure you have access to a telephone or IP-based telephony solution, such as Skype. You’ll also be viewing videos, so make sure you have speakers or headphones handy.
